Project Scope
Winner of the Restaurant Development & Design magazine Award for “Best Restaurant Design,” The Point was the first restaurant located in the newest waterfront destination in Washington DC. The residential and retail complex was developed by Akridge and Western Development Corp. The development, situated in the confluence of the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers was formally the headquarters of the U.S. Coast Guard and has been constructed into more than 450 residential units over 80,000 square feet of retail. The flagship restaurant, The Point is owned by multi-unit restaurateur Greg Casten who also owns Tony and Joe’s Seafood, Nick’s Riverside Grill that are both located on the Potomac river in Georgetown, as well as Ivy City Smokehouse. In addition, Mr. Casten also owns Pro-Fish a seafood wholesale company serving the Washington DC region.
The Optimum Group was retained by Mr. Casten and The Point to provide kitchen design and foodservice related equipment procurement.
